- Bird strikes cost the commercial aviation around $1.5 billion annually in aircraft damage and flight delay.

- 90% of bird strikes occur at or near airports during take-off or landing.

- 60% of bird strikes at airports occur at less than 100ft, 70% of which as birds take to the air.




- 65% of bird strikes occur at dawn or dusk - that is, in low light conditions - when birds are on or near the runway resting or in search for food.
